Trauma Photography
YOUR STORY IN PICTURES
Next to being a Web Designer and Photographer, I have been a Mental Health Advocate for many years. I offer a trauma photography workshop that is intended for anyone who has experienced trauma.
In this workshop, we will visualize your feelings and emotions through a four-part picture frame, allowing you to approach your trauma from different angles.
Trauma photography teaches you to look at your trauma not only emotionally but also objectively. This can help you escape the victim role, which is essential to progress.
Today, I live a happy life where my childhood trauma is not defining me anymore, and I love helping others in their journey to break free from trauma.

FAQ
Scenery
The island of Terschelling has a very healing effect. Her beautiful, untouched nature resonates with silence and strength. Combined with the quietness and balance she provides, it is the perfect place to be vulnerable and open up.
Why this workshop?
Transform
Approaching your trauma from a different angle can provide new and valuable insights. As much as we aim to heal, transforming is necessary first.
When we face our trauma and allow ourselves to transform from victim to survivor, we open the next door in our journey to face our trauma from a new perspective.
Grow
We need to keep moving forward to grow in our journey and grow in strength, confidence, and safety. Creating a safe space for yourself and your trauma will help you to be able to face the truth and start working on your trauma.
Trauma stories
Childhood Abuse 1/4
During my childhood abuse, I was very lonely. Nobody knew what was going on. They just saw a child playing outside and having fun. I was scared, upset, angry, sad, and ashamed. I was wearing a daily mask and hiding the truth.
Freedom 3/4
After many years, I finally broke free into the unknown. I traveled the world for the following 15 years, looking for my indenity. Who was I without the abuse? Years of addiction and mental health problems followed. I thought I was free but the trauma was deeply imprinted into my mind and body.
Locked up 2/4
During these years, I felt locked up most of the time. I lived in a prison where everyone could see me, but I could not move. I was frozen in fear and wondering if I would ever be able to escape.
Safety & Peace 4/4
After deep innder work, nature and her soft colors became my home. I felt safe and peaceful around her. She taught me to stop running and facing my fears. To love myself and to keep moving forward in life. To forgive and know my self-worth. To appreciate the bare minimum as a reminder of my complex start in life.
Example trauma story #2
Climbing hills
Facing my trauma felt like climbing a big hill. During my climb, I faced many storms. Those storms taught me to look deep within myself and discover my strengths. Finally, I reached the top and found balance and inner peace.
